Barb: First Communion

This card is for our grandson who recently made his First Communion. We missed this important mass due to illness. I hope that he will appreciate the card and the money.
I designed this card using the sketch from :Raise the Bar. Trimmiescraftchallenge required serene blue and green for their color challenge.

Recipe: Stamp:  My Sentiments Exactly ( This stamp is unique since it has a stamp for the outside of a
card and the bottom of the stamp is a sentiment for the inside of the card!)
              Embellishments: JoAnn Craft Essentials
              Paper: JoAnn's
Gold paper and ribbon were from the original invitation, the gold was punched using a Fiskar
              border and edge punch

Barb: Retired!!

This card was designed for a former co-worker who will retire in June. It also meets the criteria for sewmanychallenges:3 embellishments or techniques plus a charm.  This card was made in our stamp club taught by my daughter; Marcia.  Techniques used:  First we stamped white cardstock with the butterflies, then I colored part of the wing and body with a white crayon, then used 3 ink colors and dabbed the inks on the paper over the the butterflies randomly. (The white crayon will resist the ink.) Next I used Close to My Heart stickles to enhance the head and dots on the wing to give it some sparkle.  This cardstock was mounted on green cardstock and tied with a brown ribbon.

Recipe: White crayon, for resist technique-crayola
Stamp, paper, stickles all Close To My Heart
               Ribbon and crystals: Michael's
Charm: from a local gift store.

Barb: It's Your Day May

This card was designed for my grandaughter who will graduate from pre school this week. Note the ruby red ballet flats..they are just like hers!

This card was designed from: the Tuesday Morning sketch, it also qualifies for That Girl Challenge-a color challenge of pink, yellow, and green.

Recipe: Digital Stamp: "May" a free digital stamp, colored with copic markers and prisma pencils, the ruby flats are designed with Martha Steward Glitter.
Patterened and Plain paper as well as the crystals are from Jo Ann Fabrics.
               Lace is vintage
Sentiment: a free digital sentiment from: aud sentiments

Barb: GoodBye

This card was designed for a special Children's Librarian who is about to retire and will certainly be missed. She was such a help to me throughout my career. I wish her the best as the next chapter in her life unfolds. This also fit the criteria for two challenges: Housemouse challenge and abc challenge-V is for vintage.

Recipe: Stamp: House Mouse
              Ink: Ranger distressing ink
              Sentiment: computer generated
Patterened Paper: from my stash, the lace is vintage cut from a hanky, the button is also vintage.
It is difficult to see in the picture but I layered a few blades of grass and a tiny
flower, in the front middle, to give it some dimension.
I distressed the paper before stamping with Ranger ink then stamped and colored with Prisma pencils. I also distressed the edges of the House Mouse layers.

Barb: You Make My Heart Sing

It has been awhile since my last post..Decided I needed to get INSPIRED and make some "fancy" cards. You realize that once you send a homemade card, purchased cards do not have the same meaning!
This post is for: Some Odd Girl challenge. This card was inspired by a card made at the recent Buffalo Creative Keepsake Convention. It is a folded card using 3 different designed papers. I made this card at our local stamping party directed by My daughter, Marcia.

Recipe: All papers, ink and stamps are from Close To My Heart
